Welcome
to the Carquinez Middle School Home Page.
Carquinez
Middle School has approximately 475 students in its 6th, 7th
and 8th grades. Our school day begins at 8:45 a.m. and ends
at 3:05 p.m. Wednesdays have an earlier dismissal time at
1:30 p.m.
Our
students come from Crockett, Rodeo, Hercules and Port Costa.
We are located in the northern part of Contra Costa County,
along the Carquinez Strait.
Students
in the 6th grade have one core teacher and attend daily physical
education classes. 7th and 8th graders have a 6 period day
that includes English/Social Studies core, math, and PE. Other
subjects offered are: Art, Science, Community Service, Geography,
Humanities and ESL. Before school we offer Band and Title
I Reading and Math classes.
After
school, we have Homework Clinic two days per week. Flag football
and basketball are available to boys and girls. Carquinez
has an active student council that sponsors many events. School
dances are held four times per year.
Our
focus at CMS is on academic achievement and positive behavior.
Our PTSA and Site Council work to assist teachers and other
staff members in providing a successful middle school environment.
